An N-scale 40-foot Offset Coal Hopper with Load, Santa Fe 1, is a detailed model designed for authentic coal-hauling scenes on N-scale layouts. It includes a removable coal load for realistic unloading, and features a highly detailed injection-molded body with accurate paint and printing that mirror the prototype’s appearance.
Built for reliable operation, the car rides on screw-mounted trucks with machined metal wheels and body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers. It runs on Code 55 and 80 rail and uses a weighted, painted die-cast underframe for stability. A minimum curve radius of 9 3/4 inches keeps operations smooth in yards and on mainlines, and it can be equipped with roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks for added authenticity, along with a scale-profile brake wheel and accurate paint and printing.
