Description
HO scale Genesis EMD SD50 Locomotive in Baltimore and Ohio livery, number 8578, is a detailed HO model built to reproduce EMD’s 3,500-horsepower SD50 from the early 1980s. This locomotive is designed to bring the era to life on an HO layout, with authentic proportions, a detailed cab interior, and road-name specific detailing that captures the look and operation of the prototype.
Engineered for smooth, reliable operation on standard HO track, it features Genesis-grade detailing, a heavy die-cast frame for traction, and a robust drivetrain for quiet performance. See-through cab windows, correctly placed doors and dynamic brake components, and optional features such as DCC-ready plug-and-play installation or Tsunami2 sound in sound-equipped versions, along with LED headlights and operating number boards. The model is compatible with a 22-inch minimum radius, enabling faithful operation on a wide range of layouts while delivering period-correct presence on mid-to-late 20th-century railroading scenes.
