An 89-foot-8-inch TOFC flatcar replica for HO-scale model railroads, this F89F model re-creates Trailer Train’s long intermodal flatcar used for trailer-on-flatcar service. Fully decorated and ready to run, it captures the car’s distinctive proportions and service versatility, making it a centerpiece for intermodal or mixed-freight layouts.
Built with a heavy die-cast underframe for steady tracking, it rides on 70-ton roller-bearing trucks with machined metal wheels sporting RP25 contours for smooth, reliable operation. The model features raised and lowered hitches, wire-formed brake plumbing, a detailed deck, and separately applied brake hardware, including a brake ratchet, ladders, and grab irons. Body-mounted operating scale knuckles ensure realistic coupling, and the car is weighted for optimum performance. It’s suitable for dedicated intermodal trains or mixed freight on layouts, with a minimum 22-inch radius and a recommended 24 inches or larger.
